A tomato grower who specialises in  high quality varieties has a new Greenspec installation in Costa Rica.

The new greenhouse is an extension of an exisiting farm. It is a high quality plastic tunnel with ventilation. This has been chosen because this greenhouse type is suitable for the local climate. There is an irrigation system and the plants grow in rockwool beds. The grower also reuses the irrigation water.

The grower has selected special tomato types that produces beautiful tasty tomatoes. He grows these high quality plants in the greenhouse. The Tomatissimo company is using the longterm experience with the local humidity and soil conditions. Because of the high quality the tomatoes are also exported to the USA. But another part is sold in Costa Rica itself.

The installation consists of a GSC combined with 2 AFP. One AFP is regulating the irrigation mixing station. The other AFP controls the ventilation system. Because he uses this system, the grower can take special care of the regulation of the humidity.

This is important, because the local background humidity can be high and the greenhouse is not heated. So Greenspec has made some extra options for the installer. With this the installer can help the grower to set the correct climate conditions.

The new webapp is progressing quickly and will become a very handy tool for all Greenspec growers to watch and control the greenhouse from anywhere.
Greenspec has launched a new compact but very complete mixing station that is regulated by our own greenhouse automation system. We now add options for larger systems within the same high quality concept.
