THE GREENHOUSE
A large grower of ornamental garden plants settings in Germany uses Greenspec to regulate temperature and light for the plants on his table system.
The greenhouse of 24 sections has just been updated. Now the technical equipment is at the most modern level. One of the main elements is giving the correct amount of light to the growing plants to promote growth of the plant.
The grower uses two generators, that have an independent switching system.
THE ORNAMENTAL GARDEN SEEDINGS
The very specialised unit grows small settings of many different ornamental garden plants. The grower first seeds into units with small plant holes. These are filled with the correct soil mixture for the type of plant. The plants are made ready to sell to the clients in a period of 2 to 4 weeks, there they will grow up to sell to the public.
Because of the huge variation in plants the light, temperature and water conditions must be set in detail. The plants are normally moved around the greenhouses during this period. For this special rolling banks are installed all over the greenhouse. Of course the aim is that plants in one greenhouse have the same light and heat conditions. The watering is then regulated even more in detail.
THE GREENSPEC INSTALLATION
The installation consists of a GSC combined with 16 AFP. Some AFP are regulating the basic irrigation mixing station. And the other AFP control the light system as well as the heating.
The grower uses 2 generators both for electricity and also for heat. These are switched on and off in a special sequence depending on the light demand. So with this feature, he can save energy and costs. The grower has a specialvversion of the light program, where he can set the priority. So when the energy consumption is at the limit, the system can switch off the lights at the plants with the lowest priority.
The grower has several other automation systems, for instance for his very specific watering units.
